A Polk County jury has awarded a Lakeland couple $1.7 million for property sought by the Southwest Florida Water Management District for the Lake Hancock lake level project.
The award Sept. 2 went to Titus and Angela Weflen, who had a five-acre horse farm on Saddle Creek Farm Road, said John M. LeRoux, the Clearwater lawyer who represented them.
Karen Murphy and her sister, Dianne Campbell, will no longer have to wade through floodwaters to their front porch, pushing groceries in the recycling cart. They'll be able to take showers and do laundry the same day. And when they turn on the dishwasher, chances are the water won't back up.
That's because they no longer will be living on soggy land adjacent to a flooding lake in northwest Hillsborough County.
The Million Dollar Advocates Forum is pleased to announce that attorney John M. LeRoux has been certified as a life member of both the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum.
The Million Dollar Advocates Forum is recognized as one of the most prestigious groups of trial lawyers in the United States.
